I love Onion rings.So,one day when I was out of onions I came out with this idea of making Egg rings which later I submitted for an egg recipe competition .Unfortunately I did not win the competition but I did win my man's heart ;) .After all, that matters the most.It is so simple yet yummy.worth the try.
Here 's how I made my so called ,"EGG RINGS" :
Ingredients:
4 boiled eggs
1/2 cup All purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon red chilli powder (optional)
3 tablespoon Flavored Italian breadcrumbs (optional)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 well beaten egg
1/2 cup milk
Cooking oil for deep frying
Ketchup (optional)
Black salt (optional)
- Cut the boiled eggs into ¼ inch thick round slices and remove yolks from the round egg slices .
- In a bowl,combine flour ,salt,pepper,red chilli powder and baking powder.
- Whisk together egg and milk in another bowl and add it to the above dry mixture and mix well.
- Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, heat oil in a pan or deep fryer about 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).
- Put a drop of batter in the oil, if it fries up quickly then egg rings are ready to go in.
- Dip egg rings in to the batter until they are all coated & let the excess drip off.
- Spread the bread crumbs on a plate. Place egg rings one by one into the crumbs, coat it completely and place all of them on a plate or a parchment paper.
- Now, fry one by one or without over crowding until golden brown, turning to brown both sides.Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Season it with preferably black salt.
- Serve hot and enjoy with ketchup.
